As you may be aware from this post, my favorite workhorse notebook is the Midori A5 Grid. It scores high marks in everything except durability. It’s not really that bad though, because I can buy awesome covers!

During a search for covers, I came across a listing from Simpleee Store. I bought one cover to test the store out and to my surprise, I got a personalized note with my order and also a sticker sheet. That’s something Goulet Pens is known for but GP does not sell budget stationery items.
Pretty much an hour after getting that order I went back to the store and bought the other things I eyed but didn’t want to get until I knew the store was good.
The thoughtfulness exhibited in the second order pretty much inspired me to create an entire subdivision category for this blog.
PACKAGING
The note wasn’t on paper, it was on the box itself!
That is truly special and unexpected! I was also recognized as a repeat customer which is an added bonus of personability. Again, something like this I’ve gotten from being a customer at Goulet or Birmingham Pens, but I never expected to get it from my budget shopping at AliExpress.
The items inside were wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap. Despite the box looking banged up the items inside were in pristine condition.
There was also a tracking number assigned to the package. Shipping was relatively fast for these types of orders; I ordered April 27 and got the items on May 11.

The only complaint I have is that they are glitter flake, so they have a rough texture and the glitter may fall off. I’m thinking about spraying some sort of sealant on it or buying a plastic cover to protect the glitter.
For the Traveler’s Notebook, it came fully loaded with three (3) !! inserts. They’re not the real Midori brand, but I am eager to do pen tests in them. It also came with a pen, item bag, and cardboard card holders. Basically everything you need to start a Traveler’s Notebook kit in included. Amazing! I just wanted a cover some stray inserts I had, but now I have an entirely new system to play with.
I forgot to take a photo, but the front cover also has slots for cards or small sticker sheets.

This one is a nice textured/embroidered cloth and the tassels were a key selling point. This is a display notebook cover. Might not be something you can take everywhere because of the tassels, but a beautiful addition to your desk.
The notebook covers are standard with card pockets found in most notebook covers.

LASTLY…
I highly recommend this seller. With just two orders she’s guaranteed that I will look at her store first for all my stationery needs, which is saying something considering the volume of stores that are on AliExpress!
